At Chelsea, Hazard matured into a world-class player and was primarily utilised as a left midfielder, a position which enables him to cut into the centre and strike on goal with his stronger right foot. His former Chelsea teammate, John Obi Mikel has different opinions about the Belgian player, spoke on BeinSports about Hazard's profile. For him, it's clear, he's extremely lazy:
‘He’s the laziest player I’ve played alongside. He didn't like to train hard. While we were working he was waiting for us to finish training just standing there. But on Sundays he was always man of the match, it was unbelievable. He has an incredible talent, maybe not as good as [Lionel] Messi, but he can do whatever he wants with the ball at his feet.’
With this statement, the former Chelsea midfielder may have explained the Belgian striker's mixed start to the season. He now has every opportunity to prove that he can make it through and shine for an institution such as Real Madrid.
