The scrum-half
Harry Randall is Bristol’s scrum-half and may be set to start for England as they face Italy in Rome on Sunday. Randall was in the squad for the opening game against Scotland at Murrayfield but didn’t have a chance to play. After this defeat, Eddie Jones is keeping his options open for this Sunday’s squad. Randall has worked closely with this weekend’s first-choice fly-half Marcus Smith during training.
If Randall is chosen to start for England on Sunday, this could mean Ben Youngs may not be able to match Jason Leonard’s national record of test caps, if he is not played during the game. He may have to wait until England face Wales on February 26.

Other changes
Other changes have been made to the team due to injury. Lewis Ludlam, who plays for Northampton, is out due to a rib injury. Jones’s choices are moving Nick Isiekwe to blindside and starting with Charlie Ewels with Maro Itoje.
To keep the other teams on their toes, Eddie Jones is choosing to announce his match-day squad at the last possible moment, meaning even the players are unsure of their positions until the last moment. The match-day squad will be announced at 11.30 am this morning.
