Often described as gifted, Greg learnt the entire primary school program in the space of just one year. He was learning alongside much older students and didn't feel at all out of place.
Now, at 26 years old, Greg Smith is still just as smart. He became a researcher at Mount Sinai’s Icahn School of Medicine in New York and is studying stochastic genes. Whilst on the Oprah Winfrey show, the young man referred back to his earlier years at university, where he only has good memories.
“I had loads of friends at University and used to hang out with lots of people from my class”, says Greg Smith. “We were all different ages, but we liked the same things like sports, going out and having a good time”.
Nowadays, he is devoting his time to his research and is working on creating better medicine and treatments in order to treat cancer.
