Festival season is in full swing all over the world and everyone has their favourite, including the elderly! In Germany, two retirement home residents escaped from their nursing home in the middle of the night to go to a heavy metal festival! Alerted by the nursing home staff, the police officers were surprised to find them at the four-day Wacken Open Air festival at around 3 am.

A little disorientated and dazed, the two friends apparently did not want to leave and had to be escorted back home with a taxi and police patrol car. They were a bit frightened, but no harm came of it and they will now have quite the story to tell of their adventure!
The festival's official Twitter gave a shoutout to the OAPs with the message 'you're never too old to rock'.
We imagine their next bingo nights will now seem quite bland in comparison…
