All of the drama has stemmed from a scandal concerning their directors. One of the directors from Pixar studios, John Lasseter, was accused of inappropriate behaviour and “unwanted advances”. After this happened, two of the writers for Toy Story 4, Rashida Jones and Will McComack resigned. The UK release of the film has now been postponed to June 21, 2019. Annie Potts, the voice actress for Bo Peep, spoke more about it to Comicbook.

“[Toy Story 4] was supposed to come out this year and then they threw out three-quarters of it and rewrote. Usually, it takes – from start to finish – two years. But because they threw most of it in the bin and started over”
The two screenwriters left for artistic differences and, in the end, three-quarters of the screenplay was binned, almost the entire work of the resigned writers. The film will focus on a love story between Bo Peep and Woody, as voiced by Tom Hanks.
