Emilia recently revealed that she was offered the role of Anastasia Steele in the movies - but turned them down despite her admiration for the trilogy's original director, Sam Taylor-Johnson. But it wasn't because she had any disdain for the erotic thriller series.
'Well, Sam [Taylor-Johnson, the director] is a magician. I love her, and I thought her vision was beautiful,' Emilia told the Hollywood Reporter at their Drama Actress roundtable, before going on to explain her reasons for not accepting the role.
