A movie forbidden to under 1

Without further ado, the most watched movie on the platform is none other than Bird Box! Surprised? So are we! The American post-apocalyptic thriller, which in its nature, is rather violent, is definitely not suited for everyone. In the UK, for example, it is forbidden to children under 15, which means that a number of users of the platform probably have not yet seen it!

Bird Box was released in 2018, on Netflix exclusively. Directed by Susanne Bier, the thriller takes place in a post-apocalyptic world, in a strange phenomenon which is driving the population to commit suicide. To avoid these suicidal impulses, the survivors have no choice but to move around blindfolded.

The film, starring Sandra Bullock and John Malkovich, received rather lukewarm reviews upon its release. But according to Netflix, this has not prevented it from accumulating hundreds of millions of viewing hours.

An action-oriented top 10

282,020,000 hours. That's the amount of time Netflix users would have spent watching Bird Box. For information, the second title on this list is Tyler Rake, an action movie with Chris Hemsworth, which has accumulated 231,340,000 of viewing hours. Zack Snyder's recent Army of the Dead comes in at number eight, 186,540,000 hours.

The website also lists the weekly top 10 series. It's a good tool if you're looking for a series to binge watch to keep you busy this winter.
