Simon has returned to filming for yet another season of Britain's Got Talent, joining a reunited Ant and Dec as well as fellow judges Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden and David Walliams for auditions in London and Manchester.
However, after a photo of Simon and his co-stars was shared online, cruel comments began to be made about Simon's appearance. Controversial Scottish comedian Limmy tweeted that he looked like he'd been 'blowtorched to death' and many other Twitter users were equally unforgiving in their comments.
