Black Mirror: Bandersnatch went viral as soon as it was made available on Netflix on December 28, 2018. This special, which is adapted from the hit series, allows subscribers to choose the plot by making choices that influence the continuation of the history. A small revolution that has not been to the taste of Chooseco, the publishers of the "Choose Your Own Adventure" books. On January 11, 2019, a lawsuit was filed by the publisher against Netflix in a federal court in Vermont, requesting $ 25 million or all profits from the episode, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

"Breach of trademark and unfair competition"
In the complaint, it is stipulated that Netflix applied for a license to develop interactive content based on these books but it was never obtained. It is also written that Chooseco sent a request to stop production of this episode "at least once" before the release of Bandersnatch. Chooseco claims that Netflix has benefited from its brand because the discussions around the film use the phrase "choose your own adventure". The publisher then speaks of "reputational damage" and claims damages for copyright infringement, unfair competition, misnomer and dilution. A lawsuit that could, therefore, cost Netflix, who has not yet spoken on the subject, a bundle.
