Keira Knightley forgot she was in Star Wars
Pirates of the Caribbean star Keira Knightley was interviewed by ComingSoon about her role in Episode 1: The Phantom Menace. After a reference to the fact that the star's character survives in the film, Keira Knightley thought that she had played... Padmé (played by Natalie Portman in reality):
Wait a minute. Who did I play? Was I not Padmé?
Taken by surprise, the 35-year-old actress admitted she only saw the film once and doesn't remember much about the role (even though it was a major one early in her career). She said:
Do you know, I saw the film once. I think I was 12 when I did it and it came out and I saw it the year after. And I’ve never seen it again.
No role in a future Star Wars film for the actress
As the conversation continued, the actress was asked if there have been any offers for her to reprise the role in the future, to which she replied:
Reprising the character I can’t even remember the name of? No, there hasn’t.
