Naughty Boy’s family speak out
A family member of Naughty Boy’s, who is currently running his social media, tweeted on Tuesday evening:
If only everyone knew what he’s battling on the outside world. His mum (my nan) is battling dementia and he has been taking care of her for the last 5 years. This is the first time he has left her to do something life-changing! He is just overwhelmed and he will be fine.
There was a wave of support for Naughty Boy in response to the tweet, with many users sharing their own heart-breaking experiences caring for relatives with the condition.
Naughty Boy’s mum was diagnosed with vascular dementia after suffering a stroke in 2017. Caring for his mum is thought to be the reason that Naughty Boy dropped out of appearing on I’m A Celeb last year at the last minute. He was replaced by Jordan North, who ended up finishing second on the show. Naughty Boy is also an ambassador for Dementia UK and has spoken about his experience caring for his mum to raise awareness.
