I’m A Celeb 2020 could be facing another setback as confirmed campmate AJ Pritchard has tested positive for coronavirus. Like the rest of the campmates, AJ has been carrying out his two-week isolation period in Wales before heading onto the show and is said to have been ‘shocked’ that his routine test came back positive.

An ITV spokesperson confirmed:
One member of the cast has received a positive Covid result and that individual is self isolating where we are giving them all the support that they need. I’m A Celebrity has robust health and safety measures and protocols in place in order to operate safely within Covid-19 guidelines.
Will AJ Pritchard still be on I’m A Celeb?
AJ was still included in the official I'm A Celeb 2020 line up announcement by Ant and Dec on Sunday evening, suggesting that producers reckon he’ll be better in time for filming. AJ also posted about his excitement about going on the show on his Insta–as he said taking part in I’m A Celeb was a ‘childhood dream’ of his.
An ITV source said:
All of the celebrities are being tested regularly as part of ITV’s plans to make sure the show goes ahead. They’re taking zero risks and AJ will be tested again in the coming days. If that comes back negative he’ll start filming at the end of the week as planned, if it comes back positive again they still have a few days to play with, so everyone is quite calm at this point.
Who would replace AJ Pritchard on I’m A Celeb?
If AJ does test positive, he could be replaced by footballer-turned-musician Chelcee Grimes, according to The Sun. The paper says Chelcee has also been in isolation in Abergele just in case she’s needed as a last-minute campmate. Like AJ–whose brother Curtis appeared on Love Island 2019–Chelcee also has a Love Island connection as she previously dated Megan Barton-Hanson.
