Released on 8th December 2017 in England, The Greatest Showman was a box-office smash. The film's global revenue was 434 million dollars, which was quite a decent amount and well above other films that came out last year in the United States such as Beauty and the Beast, Wonder Woman or even Logan.

It’s probably not the film of the year, but its sales definitely speak for themselves, being the most sold album of 2018 according to Bloomberg Business. Having sold 4 million copies, the soundtrack was in the American Top 5 Albums for 23 weeks, overtaking Adele’s 21, which was in the charts for 21 weeks.
The most sold soundtrack album since Frozen
The original songs from this movie have beaten Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake and even Kanye West in sales revenue. Judging from streaming hits, The Greatest Showman has already reached more than 100 million hits and the CD has gone to platinum in quite a few countries, including Singapore and Australia.
As well as its impressive stats, the soundtrack has easily replaced Frozen as the most sold soundtrack, which came out in 2013. Starring in 6 of the 11 songs on the album, Hugh Jackman proves that even six years after Les Misérables, he’s still got what it takes when it comes to singing. The Greatest Showman’s success could even encourage him to try his hand on Broadway with a live action adaptation if one is considered.
