A new teaser for Harry Potter: Wizards Unite has been released this month, and it hints at exactly what players will be doing. In the brief, live-action trailer, a witch tracks down a rogue Golden Snitch, the flying ball used in games of Quidditch, and summons a poster warning other witches and wizards that magical things are crossing over into the Muggle world — an event apparently known as the Calamity.
A game in augmented-reality
It’s been more than a year since Pokémon Go developer Niantic and Warner Bros. announced they were working on a mobile augmented-reality game based on the Wizarding World of Harry Potter franchise.
‘Pokémon Go’ was released in July 2016, quickly became a top mobile game and was downloaded more than 750 million times in its first year. We all remember the crazy stories that happened to people while playing Pokemon Go.
Now, fans of J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World can look forward to an immersive new augmented-reality game, let’s just hope it doesn’t get as crazy as Pokemon Go did.
