On Monday, May 20th, HBO the sixth and final episode of the final season of Game of Thrones aired. After more than a month of suspense, fans were able to witness the crowning of Bran the Broken, who immediately chose Tyrion Lannister as his right hand man. An ending that may not match that of George R. R. Martin's books, A Song of IceandFire.

At first, the author affirmed, directly on his blog, that in his latest books, he would have ample time to tell the end of the plot in details: "They had eight hours for this last season. I expect my last two books to take up 3,000 manuscript pages before I finish ... and if more pages, chapters and scenes are needed, I'll add them."
Regarding the end of his novels, George RR Martin didn't say much, but suggested it could be different from that of the TV series: "How will it end? People often ask me. Like the show? A different ending? Well yes. And no. And yes. And no. And yes. And no. And yes." A vague answer at best, which might force the most curious of you to start reading the famous books A Song of Ice and Fire.
