But after the release of last Sunday’s most recent episode of the season, fans have savagely ripped the mighty Jon Snow to shreds in the most millennial way possible – memes.
In the now infamous scene, fans revelled in what seemed to be Jon Snow believing in his ability to take down the Ice Dragon with his own deafening scream. Numerous fans were quick to recite in the comments the well-known line, “You know nothing, Jon Snow” as the first obvious attack.
Despite this apparent pitiful behaviour, one keen fan was determined to delve deeper into the action to uncover the truth of what happened.
As it turns out, on listening intently, you can actually hear the warning that Jon bellows to his younger sister. In doing this he both acts as signal to Arya and forms a distraction, to grant his sister a chance to defeat the Night King while he courageously offers himself up as sacrifice to the undead dragon.
I think we can all say we’re a little relieved to find out that our beloved hero, Jon Snow, did not just scream at a dragon after all that’s happened over the past 8 seasons.
