James Corden and Ruth Jones delighted fans when they brought Gavin and Stacey back for a Christmas special in 2019. But after the massive cliffhanger that episode was left on, fans have been begging for more ever since. While more Gavin and Stacey hasn't been ruled out, no future episodes have so far been confirmed.

Alison Steadman on Gavin and Stacey future
This week, Alison Steadman - who played Gavin's mum Pamela in the hit show - spoke about potential future episodes in an interview with the Daily Star. Unfortunately, it sounds like she's just as much in the dark about the show's future as the rest of us. She said:
We don't ask, it's kind of a given that you don't go up and say 'Ruth, is there going to be any more?' Believe me, if there's going to be any more, they will just get on with it and we'll find out, it's not fair to them to start probing and digging, so none of us would dare to do that.
Will there be more Gavin and Stacey?
Ultimately, it sounds like any return is definitely going to be up to writers Ruth Jones and James Corden - who also play fan favourites Nessa and Smithy on the show. In May, James Corden said it 'would be a shame' to leave the show on the cliffhanger that ended the Christmas special but said there weren't firm plans to make any more at that time. He continued:
It doesn’t feel like the end of a book but the end of a chapter. If we did another that would be the end of it… My hunch is no one will ever know if it’s coming until we’ve got it but we haven’t had a single conversation about it. You’ve got to organically wait for the ideas to arrive.
