As the much-anticipated trailer is making its way around, social media users have slammed the producer's choice to cast Hollywood hunk, Zac Efron for fear of glorifying and sexualising the notorious criminal despite his famous charisma and perceived good looks.

But now a spanner has been thrown in the works and it seems there's an important perspective that many critics of the casting have missed - and it's shared by one of Ted Bundy's unlikely survivors herself, Kathy Kleiner Rubin. Kathy was subjected to Bundy's heinous crimes when he snuck into her sorority home at Florida State University in Tallahassee back in 1978, where he bludgeoned the victim. Despite ending with a shattered jaw, a lacerated right cheek and a torn tongue, Kathy managed to survive the terrifying ordeal and has since looked to learning about people like Bundy himself and educating others in light of her own experience.
In a candid interview with TMZ, Kathy Kleiner has shared her thoughts regarding the hyped Ted Bundy crime flick - more importantly - with Zac Efron's portrayal in mind, and it's safe to say her thoughts may surprise, and even, enlighten the overall debate.
