A hidden shortcut button
This should be particularly useful if ever the screen on your iPhone is broken and your home button is no longer working. With the new feature, you will be able to control everything from the volume, to returning back to your home screen, to locking your phone or even taking pictures if need be.
You can also use the new feature to access Assistive Touch, Siri Shortcuts, Magnifier, Reachability and Voice Over.
How to use Back Tap
Back Tap was added into the IOS.14 version so you will need to update your phone prior to being able to use this feature. Once you have that installed, you will have to go to your settings feature, then tap on accessibility, followed by the touch option. From here, you will select the Back Tap feature which will allow you to then create a double or triple tap on the back of your iPhone to perform actions quickly.
So, for instance, you can choose to take a screen shot by double tapping the Apple logo when tapping twice on it and/or lock the screen when tapping three times—configurations are endless!
And for those of you who take extra good care of your phone and protect it by using a phone case, worry not as the new feature is sensitive enough to detect the tapping even with the sturdiest and thickest of phone cases.
