If you use Google’s Chrome browser, you should update to the latest version now. Google issued the emergency warning after detecting a dangerous security breach known as Zero day.

On its official Chrome blog, Google announced that Chrome on Windows, macOS and Linux have been exposed to a new ‘zero-day’ hack (CVE-2022-1096).
Forbes reports that this is the most dangerous form of attack because not only does it make the browser vulnerable, this vulnerability is known to hackers who could exploit it before Google finds a fix. In the blogpost, Google acknowledged the breach but restricted information about the exploit:
Access to bug details and links may be kept restricted until a majority of users are updated with a fix. We will also retain restrictions if the bug exists in a third party library that other projects similarly depend on, but haven’t yet fixed.

Stay protected
To tackle this problem, Google has announced an emergency update for Chrome
for Windows, Mac and Linux which will roll out over the coming days/weeks.
To check your browser version, navigate to Settings > Help > About Google Chrome — this will also force Chrome to check for updates. To be fully protected, you’ll need to restart the browser when the update is done.
According to Forbes, this is the second time this year that Chrome has been hacked by zero-day. These hacks are on the rise and the only to stay protected is by updating your browser immediately.
