Nintendo’s quarter
Nintendo’s latest OLED Switch has already sold 10.67 million units in Q3 (October to December), which brought the total number of Switch sales to 103.54 million. The previous best selling console for Nintendo was the Wii at 101.63 million units.
Nevertheless, not everything has gone as smoothly, Switch sales have gone down by 8% and its yearly forecast is down by one million units compared to last year.

Best selling games
Not only is the Switch selling well, so are its games. Indeed Pokémon remasters Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are currently the best sellers at 13.97 million units total over the last nine months. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has sold 7.96 million units, Mario Party Superstars sold 5.43 million units and Animal Crossing: New Horizons 4.99 million.
Metroid Dread was introduced last year and since it’s been on sale, it has managed to sell 2.74 million units. Nintendo’s next quarter looks just as promising with the release of Pokémon Legends Arceuson January 28, which surpassed Animal Crossing sales in its first week in the UK. Kirby and the Forgotten Land is set to be released on March 25.
