Nate Diaz called out Jorge Masvidal after his impressive victory over Anthony Pettis, and the UFC heard him loud and clear. The Stockton native had expressed his wish to face Jorge Masvidal, the only other true "gangster" in the organization.

But Nate Diaz didn't stop there! He explained that he didn't care about winning a belt and that he was more interested in facing the real fighters, those who've been in the UFC for a while and have proven their worth. He even referred to the potential fight against Masvidal as a competition for the title of "Baddest Mother F***er in the game."
And actual BMF belt is being made!
Well, Dana White heard him loud and clear and decided to make that dream come true. Even though he doesn't always see eye to eye with Nate Diaz, the president of the UFC seized the opportunity to organize this much-anticipated fight.
So, you know, this is one of those fights that, after that interview, started to build a life of its own through the fans and the media. We didn’t seriously start talking about this fight until maybe a couple of weeks later in a matchmaking meeting. I said to my guys, ‘Listen, tell me if I’m crazy, but what if we think about actually having a ‘baddest mother f***er in the game belt,’ and my guys loved it, and we started talking about it, and we went into the design team at the UFC. We started to design it. I will physically have that belt when I come back to New York. It will be ready.
So, the two fighters will be competing for the "Baddest Mother F***er in the game" belt at the UFC 244's main event, a first in the history of the organization. Now that we've seen that hip hop reference -- "Parental Advisory, Explicit Content" -- on the poster for the fight, we can't wait to see what the belt looks like.
