In better shape than a 20 year-old
Doubt has crept into more than one mind about the physical capabilities of CR7, and the decision to sign him at an age when most are already finishing their careers seemed surprising to some. To these doubts he responded with humour at his introductory press conference. ‘I am happy and honoured that the club wants me, while turning a blind eye to the fact that I’m 23. Sorry 33.’
Ultimately Cristiano Ronaldo won’t have to apologise. The tests during his medical visit revealed the player is in Olympian shape. It turns out that he is in as good or even better shape than a 20 year-old.
Due to hard work and a perfectly healthy lifestyle, Ronaldo has only 7% body fat while a 20 year-old usually has 10-11%. Meanwhile when it comes to muscles the Portuguese is again above the norm with 50% muscle mass, compared to 46% at the most for a player 10 years younger.
To those who said his career was almost over, Cristiano Ronaldo has just proven he will be staying on the pitch for a long time. This news should make Juventus very happy over the next four years.
