This 30-tonne humpback whale washed up on Ponta beach in Mozambique in early September. Whilst locals initially tried to launch a rescue mission, it soon became clear that the ocean giant was seriously ill and it sadly passed away.
Following the whale's death, hundreds of local people visited the beach to help themselves to some of the whale meat. Then, a new crowd arrived to take part in the feast.
In the extraordinary footage shown in the video above, we can see a shark who has come to shore to take part in the feeding frenzy - ripping off great hunks of the gigantic whale's carcass just feet away from the shoreline.
