Throwing a chicken as a welcome gift
While at a Nando’s chicken restaurant, the WBO middleweight world champion went up to meet Deontay Wilder. Their discussion began calmly, before the heavyweight champion brought up a criticism that the Brit had made against him.
Things then got a little heated and an altercation broke out, but it was nothing too serious. Saunders however resorted to paying tribute to his namesake Colonel Sanders, patron saint of Kentucky Fried Chicken in the United States by throwing half a chicken at the American. The boxer joked about the event on the night of the fight, stating that he had perfectly dodged Wilder's attack, as can be seen in the amateur footage of the altercation.
