When talking about Conor McGregor the subject is often about money. The UFC does not like to release the figures paid to its fighters, let alone when it comes to the those earning large sums. Since receiving over £77 million for his boxing match against Floyd Mayweather, the Irishman is moving into a whole other category.

The Combatland website published an anonymous testimony from a UFC official who revealed the conditions under which The Notorious signed his contract to face off against Nurmagomedov. ‘When Dana says he's paid like a UFC promoter, he isn’t lying. I heard the figure is around million (£50 million) if he wins plus a percentage of the tickets sold and pay per view.’
No other pay per view percentage
This is a crazy amount of money when you consider how much McGregor was earning during his last fights in the octagon (£11 million maximum). Another condition was put forward by the Irishman. ‘He also asked that no fighter who has a percentage of the pay per view participate on the same card. He basically said “I’m not helping out any of these bums.”’
These conditions are to be taken with a grain of salt though as long as nothing has been formalised. One thing is certain though, motivated by these challenges as always, Conor was still able to sign a big contract to return to the UFC after two years absence.
