Social media users have called her 'the patron saint of Tumblr' and even 'the queen and goddess of the internet' after her mother posted a video of her unimpressed reaction to a surprise Disneyland trip online. Since, a screen cap of her little cute buck-toothed face displaying an emotion that is halfway between concerned and dissatisfied went viral.
From the US, to the UK, to China and all the way back to Brazil, the meme has been used countless of times and is considered one of the most iconic of our generation. Naturally, both Chloe and her mother have now chosen to sell the meme as an NFT (a digital artifact that reflects real-world assets such as art, music, in-game goods, and videos) to make what is sure to be a whopping amount. Her mother, Katie Clem, explains:
It's a cool opportunity, especially if there's a Chloe fan out there who loves this meme they'll be able to own it. Even Chloe has said 'that's pretty cool'—it's a typical 10-year-old thing to say.
Memes sold as NFTs increasingly popular
Other similarly impactful memes have been sold as NFTs in recent times. Most notably, the woman from the so-called Disaster Girl meme sold it for $500,000.
