Meat Loaf, whose real name was Michael Lee Aday, passed away on 20 January 2022, as announced on his official Facebook page. No cause of death has so far been released. He was 74-years-old.

Who was Meat Loaf?
Born Marvin Lee Aday, Meat Loaf was both a singer and actor who was known for having an impressive vocal range and theatrical live shows. His Bat Out of Hell trilogy has sold over 65 million albums worldwide, and even after 40 years of releasing his first album, an average of 200,000 copies are sold each year.
The commercial success of his albums led the singer to earn a Grammy Award for Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance for the song 'I'd Do Anything for Love.'

Who was his wife, Deborah Gillespie?
Though he was married once before to Leslie G. Edmonds, with whom he had a first child with—actress Amanda Aday—the woman who was by side in his last moments was Deborah Gillespie.
Gillespie is Canadian, and the couple split their time between LA and Texas. They married in 2007 and spent a total of 14 years together until the moment Meat Loaf passed away. They never had any children together. The statement on social media that announced the late singer's death read:
Our hearts are broken to announce that the incomparable Meat Loaf passed away tonight with his wife Deborah by his side. Daughters Pearl and Amanda and close friends have been with him throughout the last 24 hours.
