'I don’t Blame Him'
Baldwin said he was told the prop gun had no live round in it. He has not been arrested or charged for Thursday’s incident.
He said in a statement that he was cooperating with law enforcement authorities as investigations have been launched into the incident.
Hutchins’ father, Anatoly Androsovych, said the family is not blaming Baldwin for the accident. He told The Sun:
We still can’t believe Halyna is dead and her mother is going out of her mind with grief. But I don’t hold Alec Baldwin responsible — it is the responsibility of the props people who handle the guns.
Hutchins, who was airlifted to hospital where she was pronounced dead, leaves behind a husband, Matthew and a son, Andros.
Androsovych says his grandson is devastated and lost without his mother.
The little boy has been very badly affected — he is lost without his mother. Matt will decide if legal action is going to be taken.
Not Ready
Law enforcement officials say, the actor was told the gun he was using as a prop was safe before he fired it.
The head armourer for the film has been revealed as Hannah Gutierrez-Reed. She had told a podcast she wasn’t sure she was ‘ready’ for the job on a past film project.
Audio has been revealed of her speaking on the Voices Of The West podcast last month, in which she said of working on Nicolas Cage’s The Old Way:
It was a really bada** way to start off a really long and cool career, I’m hoping. It was also my first time being head armourer as well. I was really nervous about it at first, and I almost didn’t take the job because I wasn’t sure if I was ready, but, doing it, like, it went really smoothly.
