Why was the basketball star flying around in a helicopter?
With the Los Angeles area being very congested,Bryant had developed the habit of travelling in his private helicopter to avoid traffic due to a past incident where he missed an important event, which he spoke about in 2018 to Alex Rodriguez, Jennifer Lopez's fiancé:
“Traffic started getting really, really bad, and I was sitting in traffic and I wound up missing like a school play because I was sitting in traffic. … I had to figure out a way where I could still train and focus on the craft but still not compromise family time.”
Regardless, Kobe and his wife, were above all, cautious parents, and were well-rehearsed on the dangers of helicopter travel.
In an interview for People magazine, a close family member revealed the agreement between the couple:
Kobe and Vanessa had made an agreement, that they would never fly together in a helicopter.
The measure had been taken so that the couple's 4 children would never become orphans.
Natalia, 17 years old, Bianca 3 years old, Capri, only 7 months old, and Gianna, 13 years old, who also passed this Sunday, were the star player's greatest pride.
In the columns of the Sunday Paper magazine, Kobe Bryant gave himself up with emotion:
“Being a father is the thing I am most proud of in this world; it’s my greatest accomplishment. I’ve learned so much, but perhaps the most profound thing has been the fierce, unconditional love you have for your children when you become a parent. I’m blessed to have had that experience four times now and there’s nothing more powerful in this world.”
