Alec Baldwin shot two members of the production team of the western film Rust, which was currently being filmed in New Mexico. According to the production, this was an 'accident' caused by the gun used as a prop in the film, which was supposed to be loaded with blanks.

Murder on the set of Rust
Halyna Hutchins and Joel Souza 'were shot and wounded when Alec Baldwin discharged a firearm used in the filming of Rust,' the Santa Fe sheriff said in a statement Thursday.
Director of photography Halyna Hutchins, 42, was immediately evacuated by helicopter to a nearby hospital but did not survive her injuries. The film's director, Joel Souza, is also injured and is currently in intensive care.

Alec Baldwin presented himself to the New Mexico police. He was interviewed and released. Santa Fe sheriff's spokesman Juan Rios told AFP:
He provided statements and answered some questions. He came forward voluntarily and left the building after the interviews were completed. No charges were filed and no arrests were made.
No charges have been filed, but the investigation is not over, as all the witnesses present must be interviewed.
The actor was known in the United States for his impersonations of former president Donald Trump in the famous satirical show Saturday Night Live.
