He’s called Buddy, and he lives in the Pretorius family, in South-East London. And his story is hardly believable. This 5-year-old grey parrot managed to fool both his owners and Amazon by submitting an order all by himself.

But how is this possible? It’s simple: he activated Alexa, Amazon’s virtual assistant, by imitating the voice of his owner. The Pretorius family usually only used Alexa for music or to use the to-do list function. Buddy, in his turn, used it to order gift boxes for a total of 10 pounds!
The Sun revealed the story, and now it’s causing a stir on the internet. After they got in touch with Amazon, the Pretorius family were told they would be given a refund. Meanwhile, Buddy is the most famous parrot in the world... although his owners hope that he won’t go back to his old ways any time soon!
