Deputy William Wheeler was in a car park in Oklahoma when he spotted a toddler and his mother in distress.

Three-year-old Chaz had swallowed a coin which had lodged in his throat. The quick-thinking cop stepped in, slapping the young lad on the back until the coin shot out onto the pavement.

Chaz's grateful and emotional mother described Deputy Wheeler as 'a guardian angel'.
