UK defence secretary Gavin Williamson does not pull any punches. Following Russia’s missed deadline to respond to Britain following accusations of their involvement in the nerve gas attack on March 14, Williamson delivered a speech in Bristol highlighting the situation.

Tension at a recent high
During the question portion of the night, one person asked him how the Russian government should respond after the consequences enacted by the UK, including the expulsion of Russian nationals. Williamson’s message was short and direct: ‘Frankly, Russia should go away and should shut up’.
In a time with tempers escalated, some people believe that this kind of response would do more harm than good. According to some experts, these kinds of statements do nothing but stoke anti-western feelings among the Russians, which could in turn lead to something greater.
