The scene, which is currently flooding social networks, was filmed by a security camera in front of a store in Shanghai, China. Two robbers (obviously amateurs) who were looking for a way to enter the premises of the company armed themselves with bricks they wanted to throw to break the storefront.

The (sizable) problem: the first brick simply bounced on the store front. And the second? It continued its course... straight into the head of the first robber, who was picking up his brick, which had fallen to the ground, knocking him out cold.
'If all the burglars were like this, we wouldn't need to work overtime,' said the local public security bureau, which published the video on Chinese social network Weibo. Turns out being aburglarisn't something you can improvise!
Research has found that skilled burglarson the other hand work on an 'automatic pilot,' which allows them to quickly take advantage of an opportunity. Some burglars say that a burglary becomes a routine, much of the concentration is about focusing on when someone is coming back.
This 'automatic pilot' is also called a 'flow state,' whereby much of the decisions made are not conscious ones, but under an awareness. Many can even ignore the sounds of a burglar alarm, since it often takes over 20 minutes for the police to respond. The best strategy is still to pretend that someone is in the house, or to find a way to somehow disturb the burglar's 'automatic pilot.'
