This Woman's Handbag Got Stolen Mid-'In My Feelings' Challenge

The 'In My Feelings' challenge – which, more often than not, involves jumping out of a moving car and having a dance – has been responsible for some erm… interesting scenes. Most recently, this footage of a young Spanish woman falling victim to opportunistic thieves while dancing.

The challenge, in which participants dance to the Drake song of the same name, usually after leaving their moving vehicles, is causing a social media frenzy. We’ve seen all kinds of scenes unfold as a result, but this time a woman in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria found herself caught up in a rather disturbing episode.

Thanks to a video of the incident posted on Facebook, local police in Gran Canaria’s capital were able to watch the whole ordeal. A the video shows, the young woman leaves her moving car to start the challenge, but soon realises that her handbag is getting in the way of the dance routine. She proceeds to throw the bag to the ground, prompting the driver and passenger of a passing scooter to take advantage of the situation and grab it. The pair fled the scene before the young woman was able to do anything, as La Vanguardia reports.

What is the 'In My Feelings' Challenge?

Just when we think we’ve seen it all on social media, the internet never fails to churn out another viral challenge to prove us wrong. The latest to capture imaginations online is the 'In My Feelings' challenge, flooding YouTube with videos of keen participants trying it out with a wide range of outcomes.

Of course, this is just the latest in a long line of social media shenanigans to temporarily take over our screens. Back in 2014, lots of famous faces could be seen doing the Ice Bucket Challenge and we’ve since witnessed the likes of the Mannequin Challenge and the Invisible Box Challenge respectively. Admittedly though, none of the above involved getting out of a moving vehicle to dance.

The 'In My Feelings' challenge was created by a social media comedian and influencer known as Shiggy, and involves accompanying Drake’s recent hit 'In My Feelings' with some unique dance moves. So far, we’ve seen it done everywhere from the tops of skyscrapers to in and around moving cars.

A Favourite Among Celebrities

It seems that few celebrities can resist a good viral challenge and this one has been no exception. So far, we’ve seen everyone from Stranger Things actors Millie Bobby Brown and Noah Schnapp to Brazilian footballer Marcelo taking part.
