Tinder saving lives
During a road trip in Norway, a young German kite-surf champion, used the dating app when she got trapped in a camper van with two friends on a mountainside road in the remote area of Norkapp, in the middle of a freezing rain storm.
According to the New York Post, Lonia first tried to reach the police, but they were too far away to assist the group. One of the young woman's friends then had a brilliant idea: creating a Tinder account to get in touch with a single person nearby who might help them.
'Literally five minutes later, I got a match'
Their unusual tactic proved to be surprisingly effective. Thanks to the app's geolocation feature, Lonia got in touch with a young man who lived just a few minutes away, in no time. 'Literally five minutes later, I had a match with Stian Lauluten,' she wrote of the incident on Instagram, adding:
Another five minutes later he came up with his Bulldozer and shaped lines in the ice. We followed him to the next parking slot and the day after our hero organized tires with spikes!
Thanks to Stian, the group was able to safely get back on the road. Unfortunately, he did not score a second date with the kite-surf champion as she recently gave birth to a healthy baby with German kite-surf champion, Linus Erdmann.
