This hotel in the Schwägalp ski resort was completely besieged following the avalanche that hit the Säntis mountains on Thursday, January 10th. The snowfall buried the car park and several cars and invaded the ground floor of the hotel Säntis’ restaurant.

On the night of Thursday to Friday, 75 people were evacuated from the station for security, as well as a holiday home, located nearby. Fortunately, the police have received no reports of missing persons in this area which is 4300 feet above sea level. However, three individuals suffered minor injuries.
Although there were no deaths, the material damage should be expensive for the locals, which reminds us once again of what nature is capable of doing.
