The parents say they had no choice but to give her coffee because they couldn't afford milk, and never received help in the form of milk or nutritional supplements. Worried about her daughter's development, the mother says that she had no other choice because her income is too low.
The parents claim their baby is healthy
We all know that consuming too much caffeine isn't exactly recommended by nutritionists, especially for a baby that is only a few months old. Despite this, the parents insist that their daughter is totally healthy and that her development and activity levels are completely normal for a baby her age. However, Hadijah Haura—the baby girl—cannot sleep without having her bottle of coffee.
Coffee is one of the most widely consumed beverages worldwide, but its consumption is not recommended for pregnant and lactating women. Some of its best-known side effects are insomnia, nervousness, and irritability.
The family have finally received help
Anita, the baby's mother, extracts copra (dried coconut pulp) for a living, as does her husband. Their income is so low that they cannot afford to buy milk for their daughter. Local authorities have visited the family and provided them with the help they need to put a stop to the baby girl's caffeine consumption and prevent any risks to her health as a result of it.
From the looks of it, it's going to take a while for the girl to adapt to her new eating habits. Indeed, she's become quite addicted to coffee. Don't miss out on the images in the video!
