If there's anything that we've learned since social distancing restrictions have become the new normal in the last 12 months, it's that shaving your own head–and making it look good– is not that hard to achieve. And although we love our barbers and hairdressers and will continue supporting their businesses when we decide to move on to a new look, we thought we would give you a few pointers on how to upkeep the buzzcut.

The shaved look is one that is very versatile and adaptable depending on how you go about it. You can jazz it up by fading it out on the sides and back or keep it simple and just as effective (and a lot easier too!) by buzzing it all at the same length.
We'll walk you through the latter option so you can continue exploring this look from home and save your coins for when the time comes for you to visit your hairdresser again.
The one essential tool you will need
First, you'll definitely be needing clippers that are salon quality enough without having to break bank for it either. We suggest investing in Wahl's Elite Pro Head Shaver as it is powerful, durable and long lasting enough while only setting you back a mere £45 to keep you looking as sharp as ever.
How to properly shave one's own head
There is a technique to help you get all your hair uniformly shaven if you're the one doing it to yourself. You're going to want to wash and dry your hair and make sure that you are cutting against the grain from back to front using a 13mm clipper guard. Don't be afraid to keep a firm grip on your clippers to guarantee a clean finish.
Once you've done that, go over it again by clipping from side to side. For a tighter finish, use a short clipper guard. To avoid patches if you have denser hair, use a number one guard and push up the taper lever to achieve a cleaner finish on the sides. Repeat this process as desired.
You're now ready to upkeep this lockdown style for as you want!
