Earlier this week a construction worker known as John was reportedly rowing over his wages before he launched a mini excavator into the reception of a Traveloge hotel situated in Liverpool Innovation Park.
It was alleged that the angry construction worker had not received his wages in his account by Friday as planned as a result of a glitch in the system, where it turned out that the driver had actually been paid on the following Monday. His co-workers had reported that the man had not checked his account before proceeding to smash through the entrance of the hotel, causing thousands of pounds worth of damage to the brand new building: "He didn’t check his bank account and didn’t realise he’d actually been paid. That’s why he went mental and wrecked the place," one co-worker told The Sun.
"Nobody could believe their eyes. The man just went crazy. Everyone said he'd had an issue over his pay and he was saying he was owed £600," another source explained.
It has also been reported that the driver had simply left the truck before walking away by foot. Police are now investigating the incident.
