According to a recent study, it turns out that the average Brit will spend an average of four years on streaming services. The study, which was commissioned by broadband provider Truespeed, also found that Brits spend on average a total of two years online shopping as well as a further three years on social media.
When it comes to streaming music accounts, three full years—or 52 minutes a day—is the time spent by the average British person doing so. The research polled a total of 2,000 participants and found that three-quarters of all those surveyed considered the internet a part of their daily lives In addition, almost half (49%) said that they could not see themselves going a day without using it.
Ingrained in our lives
Evan Wienburg, CEO of Truespeed said:
It's incredible to see how our internet time adds up when you consider all the different activities we use it for. The internet has become so ingrained in our day-to-day lives, that many of us don't realise just how much we rely on it. It has become almost impossible to function without it.
Further findings of the study revealed that the average British adult browses the web at least four time a day to check their emails and use social media. Finally, 38% polled said that they start using the internet by 8am, while 20% admitted to not logging off until after 11pm.
