A porno set on a beach littered with rubbish
MindGeek, the privately owned Canadian company that owns the porn site Pornhub, has decided it’s time for them to do their part to protect the environment… The site has recently announced that they have been filming a porn film to raise awareness about the importance of protecting the oceans. The 'story' involves Leolulu, a famous couple who is well-known to site users, who go to a beach with the intention of having sex there. They then discover a beach strewn with plastic waste. As the video progresses, a clean-up crew then arrives to clean up the beach, slowly revealing the couple that had previously been hidden by all the garbage.
Profits donated to charity
But that’s not all. The site is also planning to donate some of the profits generated by this production to Ocean Polymers, a non-profit organisation dedicated to removing waste and pollution from the oceans, primarily by coming up with long-lasting solutions to solve the problems associated with plastic waste.
The organisation is delighted about this initiative and are happy to be receiving support from Pornhub in their mission, even though the partnership between these two institutions seems rather strange and unexpected for lots of people. Heather Wigglesworth, Executive Director and Project and Operations Manager of Ocean Polymers, said in a press release that Pornhub is ‘a brand with a significant global reach spanning all demographics, so it is a very effective platform to raise awareness and support for the crisis we face in our oceans today.’ She also added that ‘it would be great to see more companies of this size and stature taking the same responsibility with the audience they engage.’
Already doing their part for the bees
But this isn’t the first film like this to have been created. In fact, you might remember the Beesexual campaign which took place a few months ago to raise money for a non-profit organisation dedicated to protecting the bees. You can also find some rather ‘comical' porn films based around the subject of bees that have also donated some of their profits to charities such as Operation Honey Bee and Centre for Honeybee Research.
