Jean Makesh, the CEO of this nursing home in Ohio, USA, had a really nice idea to help pensioners who suffered from dementia or problems with their memory feel more at home than in any other nursing home.

He transformed the rooms in the house into a little village by making them look like little houses with styles similar to those from the 1930s and 1940s. His goal was to recreate an environment that the pensioners would recognize which might help them with their conditions.
Jean Makesh went even further to do this and created a sunrise and sunset on the ceiling of the house. And that’s not all, you can also see the moon and the stars at night and hear nature sounds and smell everyday smells during the day. This aromatherapy has reportedly been very effective.
‘In five years, we’re going to [be able to] rehabilitate our customers where they could live independently within our environment,’ said the CEO. We’re hoping to see the same thing in the UK soon!
