The List
Omicron survivors logged their symptoms on the ZOE Covid Study and after collation of the data, runny nose, headache, fatigue, sneezing and a sore throat remained on top of the list. Other common symptoms include chills and fevers, brain fog, dizziness, loss of appetite and hoarseness of voice.
The rest are swollen glands, unusual muscle pains, sore eyes, loss of smell and chest pains.
Epidemiologist, Professor Tim Spector said it is highly likely that anyone who shows signs of the common cold have Omicron, according to The Sun.
Over 50 per cent of people with a cold-like symptom have PCR proven Covid. It will be interesting to see if this changes when schools go back. It shows that the restrictions, social distancing, possibly mask wearing has had a greater effect on colds and flu than Omicron, which is even better at infecting us
Omicron Vrs The Unvaxxed
The data also showed that these symptoms are experienced faster than those of the Delta variant.
People who catch Omicron would most likely experience these symptoms within two -five days after exposure. Professor Spector said:
It does suggest that these symptoms are of shorter duration than they are of Delta. People are having symptoms for a shorter amount of time, especially in that first week.
An emergency physician-in-chief at the New York Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, Dr Rahul Sharma said, statistics point to milder symptoms in vaccinated people with those needing emergency medical attention being the unvaxxed.
A lot of these patients are not having the symptoms for the 10 to 12 days that I saw when there were no vaccinations. What I can tell you is that patients that are unvaccinated are definitely our sicker patients. Those are the patients that are more likely to go to the ICU. Those are the patients that are more likely to be admitted to the hospital.
