People would be quick to think that the least popular menu item at McDonald's would be something random and somewhat unappealing like a salad. Considering the fast food chain is known mostly for its delicious burgers and chips, who would really go to a McDonald's with the intention of ordering a salad?

The least popular menu item is...
Though nothing is wrong with salads (for all the vegetarians/vegans out there, we completely understand the need for them), we just can't imagine anyone truly craving a McDonald's salad. However, according to one employee, Stephen Patula who works as an area supervisor in Waterford, Ohio is convinced the title for the least popular menu items at McDonald's should go to tea.
The man, whose family owns a franchise, says he has never once sold a hot cup of tea over the entire time he has worked there. He explains that:
We bought these stores in July and I have yet to serve one hot tea. I actually didn't even know that we sold hot tea until about a month ago.
Hot tea vs cold tea
Since posting the video in which he made the revelation on social media, thousands of users, including some who have already worked for the restaurant, agreed with Patula. One former employee said:
Exactly someone asked for hot tea the other day and I had to ask where it was on the machine bc I had no clue where it was or that we even sold it.
Interestingly enough however, Patula also reveals that one of the most popular menu items that he sells by the dozen on a daily basis is iced tea. So while the hot variation of the beverage might not be a fan favourite, iced tea is up there with McDonald's famous Big mac and nuggets.
