We assume that most sensible people who read this statement, acknowledged it, forcefully hindered any craving for the popular sandwich, went to a differentfast food restaurant and moved on with their lives.
But the fact that this sandwich was sold-out caused quite an uproar indeed! The USA went into a chaotic, Joey-Tribbiani-like frenzy over the chicken sandwich, which debuted on August 12th and sold-out in less than a month.
Popeyes informed their followers that the sandwich would be back on the menu ASAP and asked people to download the app, so that those desiring the sandwich could receive a notification once the crunchy, appetising delight came back in stock.
Jose Cil, CEO of Restaurant Brands International, has since addressed the situation that put America into an apocalyptic-like mania: "We didn't expect to break the internet, and we had the entire nation really excited about the Popeyes chicken sandwich. And as a result, we ran out much sooner than we anticipated."
One Popeyes in Henderson, Nevada had to temporarily shut down due to the massive disarray unfolding. Apparently, cars were lining up into Popeyes neighbours, Wendy’s, prompting complaints from the fast-food restaurant. You’d think people would’ve just settled for fulfilling their cravings by dipping french fries into a Wendy’s frosty instead…
However, one group took things to the extreme when they pulled up to Popeyesand one member of the group completely lost his temper. What happened when the group found out that the sandwich had sold out? Tune into our video for more information.
