According to a new medical case study, a guy shocked many when he hacked off his penis after experiencing a psychotic episode after using cannabis.
The 23-year-old Thai man had used cannabis for two years before quitting, according to a case study report published in the Journal of Medical Case Reports. He smoked two bongs (2g) of cannabis three months after quitting and had an erection two hours later without sexual stimulation.

No penis, no pain
The man mentioned his glans were deformed and he had a severe chronic intense ache in his penis. He believed he could relieve the pain by trimming the penile skin with scissors multiple times. However, when that did not work out for him, he finally severed his penis altogether. The bleeding did not cease even after two hours, so the man went to the hospital.
Doctors determined that the penis was too damaged to save, so they did the next best thing. That is, they removed all of the dead skin and meat. The amputated limb was infested with ants, and the surviving stump was just 2 cm long. The report confirmed:
After admission and cannabis discontinuation, his delusion and hallucination subsided.
Psychosis effect
Cannabis-induced psychosis was diagnosed in the study, which was published in the Journal of Medical Case Reports. It was analysed so, as the symptoms began after cannabis use and there was no evidence of other substance addiction. According to lead author Nantanan Jengsuebsant of the Department of Emergency Medicine, cannabis has been widely utilised for medical and recreational uses around the world. The man's experience may have been unusual, but cannabis has several negative side effects, including psychosis. The study concluded:
Cannabis-induced psychosis is an adverse effect of cannabis, which may lead to impaired judgement and unexpected self-harm.
