One common piece of advice given to people who are looking for romance is that they need to put themselves out there. A man from Birmingham has taken this counsel a step further by putting his pictures on billboards across Birmingham to advertise his search for a wife.

Desperate times call for desperate actions
Mohammad Malik, 29, said he decided to take this rather unusual route to meet his future wife as conventional methods of finding love have failed him.
Mohammad, a Muslim who works as an innovation consultant and entrepreneur, also has a website, 'Findmalikawife.com' where he detailed his search for love. He wrote:
I just haven't found the right girl yet. It's tough out there. I had to get a billboard to get seen!
Malik also stated what he is looking for a potential partner, top on the list being a shared faith.
My ideal partner would be a Muslim woman in her 20s, who's striving to better her deen. I'm open to any ethnicity, but I've got a loud Punjabi family - so you'd need to keep with the bants. Always personality and faith over anything else!
He did have a caveat for interested candidates, though:
I'm an only child and look after my mom and dad. If this is a deal-breaker I don't think it'll work out.
‘Save Me From An Arranged Marriage’
One of his 20ft billboards found on the A34, close to the Perry Barr Greyhound Track, has a picture of him smiling with a humorous capture that reads:
Save me from an arranged marriage.
He however clarified that he has nothing against arranged marriage.
I think arranged marriages have a place and tradition in many Islamic cultures. In fact, there are many studies that show that arranged marriages have many advantages.
Similar billboards advertising his search can be found on Golden Hillock Road and Hockley Circus.
