Pints at 99p
But, luckily for pub goers, nearly all 671 branches across England will actually be offering lower prices on some of their drinks for the entire month of November. 90 branches across the rest of the UK will also be seeing prices slashed to only 99p.
The rise in prices has been decided upon due to shortages and aVATcut affecting spending in the industry at the moment. Charman of the pub company, Tim Martin, has confirmed that the three main drinks that will see prices go down to 99p are: Greene King IPA, Beck's bottles and whiskey measures. Martin explains:
Our pubs are known for their excellent choice of drinks at value-for-money-prices at all times. Throughout November our customers will be able to choose from a great choice of drinks and save themselves some money too.
Non-alcoholic options will also see a price drop
Alcoholic drinks are not the only ones to see a fall in prices. For those who prefer non-alcoholic options, hot drinks will also benefit from the price drop and will be able to be refilled as much as desired. Ed Bedington, editor of the trade journal Morning Advertiser said:
Price rises are rapidly becoming a major reality for operators that are already facing increases on a number of fronts, from the rise in the national living wage through to the increases in VAT and the threat of a return to the full horror that is business rates.
Before adding:
We're facing a tsunami of increases on the horizon and it's going to be a real challenge for all.
